She will and has! Hidden mac and cheese boxes in the cupboard, while I’m going to give you a scenario of this.
Let’s begin the story ( Instructions are below)
I’ll take a picture and I’ll play around with her, at first just joking then follow it up with being dramatic. This is usually by text because it’s easier to pull a straight face because Erin can’t see me!!! This is how it goes; ” Sweetheart! What is this crap? (Image showing to her phone, says she has seen the message) “You know what? I am throwing this out!” (Dots have began in the text, but… I type way too fast) “Must be in the wrong house, because last time I checked this is a pasta free house.
You know what?! I think this cares for story of Nicolas’s past, during my long winters (there is no chance of her typing back I am send messages of a 2 to 1 lines a second, she can’t reply and if Erin does my follow up is ) Erin: “take it out of there! “( Now I come back with a misfire so it takes longer for her to recover because she has to explain herself, what exactly she is talking about and then it gets to the point where the dots stop)
“What are you on about sweetheart? I took the dog out and we played a little rough house.” Anyway my brothers and I would go through winter having spaghetti and lasagna. You know what it’s like (dots have stopped) Having lasagna for a week straight?
Then my big brother decided to learn how to make risotto. That was the worst thing that ever happened to our family in history. Let me tell you this…You know when people brag how they love risotto? Well let me inform you, this wasn’t the same thing. This was gritty, chewy and sticky…with nicely done raw and thick pieces of button mushroom ( GOD HELP US!), diced carrots, onions finished with semi frozen peas ( because my brother loves frozen peas, go figure…) Oh wait, but what about the sticky folded in parmesan cheese.
This didn’t stop until I was in high school. This was finally the night that was never been forgotten… Now since my mother served risotto the night before and she decided that my dad, little brother and I loved it so much she wanted to do it another night. Now thinking back on it, it totally makes sense why she thought that and any other human being would too. When we usually got this meal my little brother, Dad and I would have a full glass of water.
With out folk would eat this with big bites following with a long gulp, so we can’t taste it, not always the case. This is pretty quick too as you would think?
Well she serves it and said these keywords that clicked to my Dad. As she places it on the table. “I noticed that you boys loved it so much last night that I wanted to serve it again.” (as I sniff it and turn my head, nooo not again)
Dad say’s; “I cant do this another night! Wifey I don’t like this meal and love all your cooking, just not this one and doesn’t make sense.” My mother turns towards us “Do you boys not like it too?” Both of us say; “It’s the worst Mum! It’s not even your recipe, it’s Luc’s and it horrible! I hate the mushrooms the most!”
My mother laughs and goes; “You boys have been eating this for years and finally saying something?” We couldn’t control this women, she was laughing so hard and walked upstairs and all 3 of us dumbfounded with a my Dad’s response, “That went way too well, we should of said something sooner.” My brother and I followed up with a soft “ya…”
And sweetheart as you have learned this is going in the bin… ( I didn’t throw it away) Erin replies; “Fine…” reaction is priceless after this.
